Humane Society Walk for the Animals 2006

Hi there Animal Lovers!

Here's an email we recieved from Howard Nelson at the Washington Humane Society last week. Sounds like a great event! Read on...

Dear Friends of Animals,

I'd like to invite you to a special dog walk to end the tragedy of pet homelessness on October 15 on the National Mall. A benefit for both the Washington Humane Society and the Humane Society of the United States, the walk will bring this important issue to the attention of the nation and help provide the resources that we need to do something about it. And it will be great fun!

The one mile walk will culminate with speakers, fun activities for you and your dog, and even a microchip clinic. Registration is only $15 for an individual, $40 for a family of four. All registrants receive a T-shirt and goody bag, and there is a prize for the top fundraiser. More details and online registration can be found at the Walk for the Animal website. Once registered, you can create your own personal fundraising page so family, friends, and fellow animal lovers can support you.

Please save the date, register to walk, and tell your friends and family about this great event. I'd love to see a huge turnout for this walk (with lots and lots of rescue dogs). It will send a message to the city and the country that the issue of homeless pets is one that we can no longer ignore.

See you there, with leash in hand and walking shoes on. It will be a pawsitively good time!

Sincerely,
Howard Nelson
