Animal Blessing and Fair on Sunday, October 1st

Epiphany Episcopal Church invites you to their Animal Blessing and Fair on Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 12 noon to 3 p.m...Rain or Shine! Epiphany Episcopal Church is located at 2216 Pot Spring Road in Timonium, Maryland (Between Chantrey and Timonium Roads).

The fair will feature displays, demonstrations, and giveways by local businesses and non-profit organizations dedicated to helping our animal friends! Admission is free! A lunch of hot dog, chips and soda for $1.00, as well as treats for your "best friend" will be available during the fair.

Featured businesses and exhibitors include pet photography by Bill Owens of Man's Best Friend Photography (Please reserve your pet portrait sitting in advance), holistic pet care by Reiki Tails, Animals in the Bible, The Humane Society of Baltimore County, Defenders of Animal Rights, The Maryland SPCA (will have pets up for adoption), and the Wild Bird Center.

Raffles for pet and animal related items and gifts will be held throughout the fair and tickets are only $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Items to be raffled include St. Francis of Assisi and Bluebird garden statuary, and gift certificates for PetsMart, Pet Depot, and The Feed Bag. All proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society of the United States, Diaster Relief Fund.

Activities for the kids include moon bounce, face painting and animal crafts, as well as pet contests (Funniest Costume, Most Original Costume, Biggest Dog, Smallest Dog, Biggest Cat, Smallest Cat, Best Kisser, Best Singer, Shortest Ears, Longest Ears, Shortest Tail, Longest Tail, Tiniest Companion Animal, and Owner Look-Alike). Prizes will be awarded to all winners!

How can I find out all the places that will be having a "Blessing of the Animals" ceremony this year (2007)? It occurs around the birthdat of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron Saint of animals, so places should be having it really soon (in October).
