Washington's Only Black-tie Gala for the Four-on-the-Floor Crowd!

The Washington Humane Society’s Bark Ball is an established Washington tradition. The formal soirée includes an auction, a seated dinner, and live entertainment – with a unique twist that makes this a one-of-a-kind event. Guests are encouraged to bring a canine escort!

As Washington's only formal evening for the “four-on-the-floor” crowd, the Bark Ball attracts some of the area’s most renowned canines and their friends. The guest list has included such luminaries as Art Buchwald, Chris Buckley, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Arch Campbell, Willard Scott and Loretta Swit. Washington’s political pet set--Socks Clinton, Millie Bush, Leader Dole, and most recently “First Canines” Spot and Barney Bush --have all served as Honorary PetChairs.

This extraordinary, high-profile event garners excellent coverage from print and broadcast media. The Bark Ball has been featured on the Discovery Channel’s “Animal Planet,” and is consistently covered by all major local television stations (Channels 4, 5, 7 and 9). In the past, stories appeared in the Washington Post, USA Today, on washingtonpost.com, in Woman’s Day, Marie Claire, and the Washingtonian magazines, and nationally in more than 30 major markets.

Past sponsors include Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group; U.S. Airways; Sun Trust Bank; the Fannie Mae Foundation; America Online; Riggs National Bank; Ralston Purina; Pfizer; The Washington Post; Booz Allen & Hamilton; TWA; and Swissair.

3rd Annual PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive has Begun!

The makers of PEDIGREE® Food for Dogs have announced the kick-off of the 3rd annual PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive! (You've probably seen their TV ad campaign).

Pedigree's makers believe every dog deserves a loving home, including the millions of good dogs in shelters across the country. That’s why they have created the PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive, a national program designed to raise awareness of the plight of homeless dogs by encouraging people to adopt a dog from a shelter.

Every time you purchase PEDIGREE® products, Pedigree will make a donation to help dogs find loving homes. In 2006, Pedigree raised nearly $750,000 and they are hoping to raise over $1 million in 2007!

Pet owners can help too! Every time you purchase PEDIGREE® products, the company will make a donation to help dogs find loving homes! This year, there are even more ways to help Pedigree help dogs. When you visit the website
www.pedigree.com/dogadoption, you can:

Find an adoptable dog near you
Donate food to a shelter and Pedigree will match it!
Get free food for a month when you adopt
Order a free DOGS RULE® T-shirt from Pedigree
...and lots more!

Pedigree states "It is so easy to make a difference in the life of a homeless dog. Because every dog deserves to be healthy, happy and adored." We agree! So what are you waiting for? Visit:
